Position: ICU Technician |
VCA Sacramento Ver Referral Center. Seeking an experienced (preferably certified) technician for a full-time position in our ICU.Come join one of the largest, progressive and rapidly expanding veterinary specialty referral practices in northern California. We are in a new state of the art, critical care, 24,000 sq foot facility. This will be a rich and rewarding environment where patient care can be optimized and learning is continuous. Interested candidates should have strong communication skills, leadership and training abilities, an energetic attitude, empathy, compassion and enthusiasm for helping clients and patients alike. Therapeutic mechanical ventilation, direct blood pressure, and CVP monitoring experience is desired along with Seldinger technique catheter placement. This is a daytime position that includes Saturdays and Sundays.

We have a varied schedule filled with interesting cases and specialty surgeries. We've been here for 40 years and we used the latest medicine and therapies available. Our staff in friendly, skilled, supportive, and high-energy. We are looking for an experienced high level veterinary assistant or licensed RVT with moderate to high level skills to join the team. Hours are full-time Monday through Friday with competitive pay and benefits. If you are confident with good judgment, enthusiastic and focused, independent but team oriented you may be the person we're looking for. Needed skills would include a confident ability to accurately read cat and dog behavior, excellent restraint skills, anesthetic experience (to include monitoring and intubation), good general knowledge of laboratory equipment and techniques, dental prophylaxis, general knowldge of radiologic technique, phelbotomy and sterile urine collection, and overall understanding of veterinary medications and treatments.Our technical staff love us because they get to actively use and acquire new skills daily. Foothill-De Anza Community College District Veterinary Technology Instructor. The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is currently accepting applications for the faculty position of Instructor, Veterinary Technology. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Under the Direction of the Dean of Biological and Health Sciences, responsible for classroom teaching and clinical laboratory instruction in veterinary technology including a broad range of subject areas. Teach formal lecture, demonstrations, and provide group laboratory instruction utilizing modern teaching techniques and technology. Provide care and management of resident teaching animals and maintenance of the veterinary technology laboratory facility. Maintain equipment and inventory and oversee ordering of supplies. Ancillary program responsibilities may include: shared responsibility for outreach, marketing, and public relations, fund and resource development, new student orientation, monitoring of students in internships, and animal nursing. Standard duties expected of all faculty include development and evaluation of curricula, maintaining scheduled office hours, attending department and division meetings, pursuing professional growth activities, and performing other duties consistent with the role of an instructor. Experience with veterinary regulatory compliance and accreditation policies and procedures. 5. Expertise or special interest in avian and exotic and lab animal practice. 6. Experience teaching students of ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds at the community college, college, or university level. In addition, successful candidates will demonstrate the following: 1. In-depth knowledge of the theory of clinical veterinary medicine and veterinary technology. 2. Knowledge of the husbandry and veterinary care of a variety of animal species. 3. Knowledge of the scope of veterinary technician roles, responsibilities, and the need for effective utilization of RVT's in modern veterinary practice. 4. Involvement with professional organizations and community service. 5. Ability to provide proactive response to student and program needs and willingness to participate in the non-teaching work of the VT Program. 6. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the common goals and objectives of the VT Program. 7. Ability to meet deadlines and keep schedules conducive to smooth operation of the program. HIRING RANGE: $52,640-$86,454 annually plus benefits; actual placement is non-negotiable and is based on applicant's verified education and experience.
